Trials
The National Trials Competition series comprises of one-day events hosted by NZFWDA affiliated clubs around the country, the number of events changes each season and are usually held between Labour Weekend and Easter. Management of the rules is undertaken by the National Trials committee on behalf of the NZFWDA. 4X4 Trials is a sport which tests the ability of the team of man and machine. The driver and navigator have to negotiate a series of hazards in their 4WD vehicle, along with other competitors. Six or more Trials are held each season, these each have approximately 35 hazards and attract large crowds of spectators, media, competitors, health professionals, team supporters and sponsors.
To be eligible to enter the Trial Series you must be a member of a current affiliated Club of the New Zealand Four Wheel Drive Association, and required to hold a current licence and competition licence.
New Zealand has currently approximately 40 affiliated Four Wheel Drive Clubs, becoming a member also gives you access to great events such as information evenings, trips, hard yakka events, discounts, challenges, trials and a network of like minded people
Each event will have an overall winner for the day and winners by class, these points placings also go to make up the National Results for Zones and overall at the end of the season.
